Washington, DC – Today, attorneys for the State of Louisiana and intervening Black voters made it clear to the highest court in the land that the drawing of Louisiana’s sixth congressional district is constitutional. 

Both the Middle District and the Fifth Circuit Court ruled that Louisiana should have two majority minority districts. The current map complies with this ruling, ensuring that Louisiana’s Black residents are able to receive proper representation in Congress.

Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Janelle Bynum (OR-05), along with Congressman Cleo Fields (LA-04) and Congressman Sam Liccardo (CA-16), introduced the Protecting Families From Inflation Act. The bill would require the Federal Reserve to examine theimpact that tariffs have on inflation faced by consumers and small businesses.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Cleo Fields is deeply concerned by the decision made by the newly confirmed Treasury Secretary and acting director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) Scott Bessent, to immediately halt the work of the CFPB.

It has been widely reported that under the direction of Secretary Bessent, department staff were instructed not to move forward with issuing public communication, settling enforcement action, or issuing and approving rules of guidance.
