Hurricane Preparedness Resources

The 2025 Atlantic hurricane season will last from June 1 to November 30, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). 

Louisiana's proximity to large bodies of water makes our state especially vulnerable to flooding. Developing preparedness plan to protect yourself, your loved ones, and your is a necessity. Below you will find resources on the state and federal level that can be used to prepare for hurricane season.

Create an Emergency Plan

• Know where to go in case of an evacuation.
• Plan how to secure your home and what actions to take.
• Prepare your emergency supply kit:

  • Charged phones & backup batteries
  • Flashlights & radios
  • First-aid supplies
