Washington, DC – Today Kearra Grisby, the winner of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition for Louisiana’s 6th Congressional District was welcomed to the Capitol by Congressman Fields. Kearra, who recently graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in Baton Rouge, was accompanied by her mother Latreace Grisby and her grandmother Sandra Moore.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. Roger Williams (TX-25), alongside Rep. Cleo Fields (LA-06), introduced the Securities Research Modernization Act to amend the Securities Act of 1933. This legislation ensures businesses have better visibility, draw more investor interest, and have a greater chance of a successful public offering.

Washington, D.C. – On Friday the Shreveport Job Corps Center, and Job Corps centers across the country were notified that they must close, under the direction of President Trump’s Department of Labor. There is absolutely no justifiable reason for this abrupt closure, which came without congressional approval.

Late last night, House Republicans were able to advance President Trump’s so called “big beautiful budget bill” by a one vote margin after close to 22 hours of continuous testifying by Democrats against the bill.

There is nothing beautiful about a bill that could strip vital healthcare and food assistance from millions of Americans, in addition to taking away critical federal funding from states like Louisiana.
