Washington, DC – The recent decision by President Trump to pause the majority of his planned tariffs for 90 days, is proof that the voice of the people matters.
Washington, DC – “President Trump’s tariffs are causing unnecessary pain and financial hardship for every American. Individual retirement funds and 401(k)s are being decimated as markets around the world respond to these excessive tariffs. The harm being done to America’s reputation both at home and abroad is immeasurable. I am urging President Trump to correct his course before it’s too late.”
Washington, DC – On Wednesday, Louisiana Democrats Congressman Fields (LA-06) and Congressman Carter (LA-02) released a joint letter addressed to President Trump, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, and Cameron Hamilton, the Acting Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). In this letter the Congressmen stated their strong objections to both the potential elimination of FEMA’s long-term disaster recovery efforts and to possible funding cuts within the agency.
Washington, DC – “Tariffs are a tax on the American people. President Trump imposing tariffs on our neighbors and allies will result in unnecessary hardships for American consumers and businesses. Under these tariffs grocery prices will go up, vehicle prices will go up, and consumer confidence will go down. If President Trump believes that there are ways to improve our trade relations with other countries, then he should sit down with world leaders and negotiate.
