Baton Rouge, LA – “In a case as important as redistricting, there is no reason why S.B. 8 should not be defended fully and faithfully. Louisiana Revised Statutes § 49:257(C) provides that the Attorney General may represent the state’s interest whenever the validity of a state law is challenged. That responsibility exists for a reason: the people deserve to know that the laws passed by their elected legislature will be given a full and fair defense. I just have the belief that the Attorney General should be willing to defend the work of the people’s representatives.”
