Washington, DC – Congressman Cleo Fields is devastated to learn of the passing of his dear friend and colleague, Congressman Sylvester Turner of Texas.

Congressman Fields and Congressman Turner forged a close friendship across several decades, built on their shared pursuit of equality for all and a deep devotion to improving the lives of the American people. 

Ready to champion a more inclusive and equitable world, Congressman Fields and Congressman Turner, along with Congressman Jonathan Jackson together were proud co-chairs of the newly formed Congressional Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Caucus. 

“Nothing can prepare you for news like this,” said Congressman Fields. “I am forever grateful for Congressman Turner’s friendship. His presence will be missed by myself and countless others throughout this Congress and beyond.”
