Congressman Cleo Fields Condemns President Trump's Racist AI Video Targeting Former President First Lady, Barack and Michelle Obama

February 6, 2026

Baton Rouge, LA – Congressman Cleo Fields released the following statement in response to the racist, AI-generated video posted by President Donald Trump, targeting former President and First Lady, Barack and Michelle Obama:

“The racist video that targeted the former President and First Lady posted by President Trump is disgusting, disrespectful, and dehumanizing. While it may have been removed by the White House, it should have never been created or posted in the first place. Plain and simple. The fact that this would occur during Black History month, a time meant to honor struggle, progress, and dignity, makes it even more disturbing.

To watch a sitting President, in real time, degrade a former President and First Lady is shameful, and America deserves better. People across this country are growing tired of the dignity and responsibility that the Office of the President holds being reduced to conduct unworthy of office.

We have come too far as a nation to accept this kind of cruelty as normal. This is not who we are, and it’s definitely not who we should strive to be. President Trump owes a sincere apology to the Obama family and to the entire nation.”
